Assessment of Plant Diversity: A Medicinal, Conservational and Environmental Study

An assessment study of the plant diversity in campus Prananath College (Autonomous), Khordha was carried out during 2019-20 and a checklist prepared. A total 241 vascular species belonging to 72 different families were recorded including four Gymnosperms. Among families, Fabaceae, Apocynaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Malvaceae, Lamiaceae Poaceae dominating plants area. Aquatic plants, medicinal ornamental are included The floristic composition also include occurrence invasive alien such as Parthenium, Ageratum, Cassia, Croton sparsiflorus. gives attention towards conservation bio-resources campus, toxic effects along with their values, proper utilization bio-wealth research academic activities.
